Choose furniture that fits your room, your everyday routine and your budget. Use this guide to compare sofas, sectionals, bedroom sets and dining furniture before shopping online or visiting Half Price Furniture in Las Vegas.
Measure the room and the route into it
A sofa can fit against a wall and still be difficult to bring through the front door. Check both the furniture’s final position and every part of its route into your home.
- Map the room. Note wall lengths, windows, door swings, outlets and the furniture you are keeping. Mark the new piece’s footprint with painter’s tape and walk around it.
- Measure the access route. Record doorway openings, hallway widths, stair turns and elevator dimensions. Check low ceilings, railings and tight corners as well.
- Compare the exact model. Check width, depth and height for each piece. Ask whether legs or backs are removable and whether the delivery dimensions differ from the assembled dimensions.
- Allow room to use it. Leave space to pull out dining chairs, open dresser drawers, extend a sleeper and fully recline a chair. Do not measure only the closed position.
Measurements help you narrow the choices; they do not guarantee a difficult delivery will fit. Discuss tight access with the store before ordering.
Choose furniture for a smaller room or apartment
Start with the largest piece
Choose the sofa or bed first, then add tables and storage around the space that remains. Compare the actual dimensions of a sofa and loveseat; names alone do not tell you which will fit.
Check the sectional layout
Sketch where the chaise will sit and keep entrances clear. Confirm how the manufacturer describes left-facing or right-facing pieces and whether the configuration is reversible. Browse sectionals.
Plan for guests
A sleeper sofa needs usable floor space when open. Check the sleeping surface, opening mechanism and what bedding or mattress is included for the exact model.
Make dining space usable
Measure the table with any leaf extended and chairs pulled out. Count the seats you need most days before choosing a larger set for occasional guests. Browse dining sets.
Compare comfort, upholstery and everyday use
Bring a photo of your room and note who will use the furniture most. A deep seat, a low arm or a tall back can feel different to each person.
- Try the fit: sit back, check seat depth and height, and try standing up. For reclining furniture, test the full movement and confirm wall clearance and power needs.
- Read the material details: ask which surfaces use leather, fabric or other coverings. Check the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions before choosing for children, pets or frequent use.
- Compare practical details: inspect cushion construction, drawer movement, table edges and the parts included in the displayed price.
- Check the exact finish: screen colors and room lighting can change how a piece looks. Call to confirm whether your chosen model or upholstery is available to view.
Build a coordinated room one step at a time
Living room
Start with seating, then choose tables that work with its height and layout. Leave everyday walking routes open.
Bedroom
Check the bed’s outer dimensions as well as its mattress size. Confirm whether the price includes a mattress, foundation, dresser, mirror or nightstands; pictured accessories may be separate.
Dining room
Match the table and chair heights, check the number of pieces included and allow room for your usual seating arrangement.
Budget
Compare the total for the same pieces, sizes and finishes. Include tax and any delivery, placement or assembly charges in your plan.

Make your showroom visit count
Half Price Furniture is a locally owned, family-run business serving the Las Vegas area since 2007. Our five published showroom locations are North Rainbow, South Rainbow, East Desert Inn, West Charleston and North Nellis.
Bring room measurements, photos, product links or model numbers, and your preferred budget. Call the location you plan to visit to confirm floor displays and availability; an online listing does not guarantee that a model is on that showroom’s floor.
